All-STate Camp Scholarships

To support choir students to be successful in the All-State process, the Clements Choir Booster Club will award no fewer than two scholarships. Each scholarship is comprised of at least $65 but may go up to the full cost of the camp. Recipients will be chosen based upon a written essay.

In order to be considered, a student must:

  • Currently be registered and participating in the Clements Choir program

  • Be In good standing, maintaining UIL eligibility

  • Obtain a written and signed note from a parent/guardian expressing that they ensure student will get transportation to an All-State Camp

  • Plan to audition for All-State in the Fall of 2024

Write a typed essay of no fewer than 100 words entitled, “What the All-State Process means to me.” YOUR NAME SHOULD BE NOWHERE ON THE ESSAY. Attach the written note from your family expressing their support and acknowledgment of transportation to the chosen camp.

Be sure to address the following topics in your essay:

  • Which camp are you planning to attend, and what is the cost breakdown (tuition, room & board, etc.)?

  • Financial need (Is your family having to make tough financial choices? Has a parent lost a job? Do you have a brother or sister that your parents are sending to college? Etc…)

  • Your desires to succeed in choir (What does choir mean to you? What are your goals?

  • Your vocal growth (Have you attempted Region in the past…gone to solo & ensemble…made progress over the past year or two? Brag on yourself!)

Please do not use your name or the names of your family in your essay, as the selection process is to remain completely confidential. The scholarship will come in a form of a reimbursement. Your family must pay for the camp first, and the Booster Club will write a check to you within 2 weeks of receiving the receipt of payment.

Deadline to submit essay and application to the choir directors is Wednesday, May 22nd. Students will be notified by Friday, May 24th.
