Senior Scholarships

Applications for the 24-25 school year WILL OPEN ON TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2025

The Clements HS Choir Booster Club is pleased to offer scholarships for Clements Choir seniors.

Each year there will be at least two scholarships - one totaling $1000 for music majors and one totaling $750 for non-music majors.* If there is enough funding, additional scholarships may be awarded.

*if there are no music major applicants, a music minor may be considered for the $1000 scholarship

Number of scholarships being awarded in the 2024-2025 school year: 1 music major, 1 non-music major

Any scholarships awarded will be paid directly to the institution of the applicant’s choice.

To be eligible, the applicant must be:

  • A current senior (or early graduate) in good standing

  • A member of Clements Choir

  • Attending a college/university in the fall following their graduation from Clements High School

    • If an applicant has been accepted to a college/university and has chosen to defer enrollment, please provide documentation and the scholarship will be awarded in the semester that the student officially enrolls.

Applicants will receive an email with a decision in or before early June.

Evaluation

The applications will be evaluated by community members that have no affiliation with Clements High School or Clements Choir. Directors and booster club members will have no influence in determining which applicants receive scholarships. All identifying information will be removed from scholarship materials before being evaluated. The scholarship evaluation committee will be chosen by the booster club board.

APPLYING

There are four items required from each applicant.

  1. Cover Sheet

  2. Proof of college/university acceptance

    • For music major applicants or applicants with a music minor, proof of a declared/anticipated music major/minor is required

  3. Résumé (with sponsor verification form if applicable)

  4. Essay

COVER SHEET

To help the booster club track applications, all applicants must fill out a cover sheet. The cover sheet can be found HERE, or at the bottom of this page.

For submission, only PDF files will be accepted.

Proof of acceptance

Applicants must provide a copy of their acceptance letter into college/university that includes the name of the college/university, name of the applicant, and declared/anticipated major/minor*. This can be provided by one or more documents.

*Proof of declared/anticipated major/minor is only required for music majors/minors

For submission, PDF and image files will be accepted.

résumé

To better ensure impartial evaluation, there should be no identifying information on the résumé for this application.
This includes applicants’ names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, etc.

Applicants must create a 1-2 page résumé that includes the following information:

  • Clements Choir Involvement (choirs enrolled in, choir council positions, Region and All-State accolades, musicals, etc.)

  • Clements High School Involvement** (other fine arts participation, clubs, student council, student government, academic honors, leadership in organizations other than choir, etc.)

**If non-choir accolades/club involvements are included, applicants should also complete a sponsor verification form that can be found HERE or at the bottom of this page.

***To narrow the scope of merit, résumés should NOT include involvement in activities outside of Clements High School***

ESSAY

To better ensure impartial evaluation, there should be no identifying information on the essay for this application.
This includes applicants’ names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, etc.

Applicants must type a 1-inch margin, double-spaced essay detailing how their experience in Clements Choir has affected their personal journey and/or future career path. The essay should be easy to read and well-organized. Minimum length is 500 words, but applicants may write as much as they desire.

For submission, only Microsoft Word documents (.doc/.docx files) will be accepted.

Submission

Each year, applications will be accepted through the link below from 12AM on April 1st through 11:59PM on the final Friday in April. No late applications will be accepted.
