The Why:

Clements Choir is operating at the limits of its funding. Our students all pay a fair-use fee to cover basic costs, like transportation, sheet music, and other basic supplies. This fundraiser will allow us to provide our deserving students with opportunities that build on their potential.

  • By providing scholarships, we are ensuring the legacy of music education and the lasting impact a great musical experience has on a student in high school. We would like to provide a pair of scholarships for students headed off to college who have made a lasting impact on the choir program. We would also like to invest in the future of our program by removing some barriers for students to attend all-state camp and private voice lessons. By providing scholarship funds, you are a vital part of directly supporting students’ access to higher levels of music-making.

You can read more about the scholarships we offer by visiting the "Scholarships" tab at the top of this page.

    Estimated cost: $7,000

  • Clements Choir hosts several performances during the year that require students to be on campus late into the evening. For many of our students, there is no ride home/back after school, and not enough money to order a dinner. We want to ensure that no student ever goes hungry to be a part of the Clements Choir program.

    Estimated cost: $2500

  • We want to celebrate the amazing community we have here in Sugar Land via a commissioned work to be sung each year at our winter concert. Typically, choir programs go in one of two directions - a Judeo-Christian themed concert, or a completely secular concert that only acknowledges the passing season. We want to celebrate common themes among our diverse community - like joy found through belonging, the excitement in huddling together away from the chilly winter air, and the anticipation of a feast in good company. We want a piece of music where people of all backgrounds are represented, and their experiences welcomed into the fold. We have yet to find a piece of music that captures that feeling, and we believe our community, with your contribution, is the place for it to be born.

    Estimated cost: $4,000
